Sprawling across close to 70 hectares, Beihai Park has architecture that showcases the beauty of China. From pavilions to temples, lake & garden. Easy to get lost in the pathways. Stopping to observe the locals enjoy their leisure time, dancing, singing, juggling ….. that was special.
In each city I visit, I’d try to take a walk through the Botanic Gardens. The urban park in the heart of Copenhagen was not a disappointment. Guess it’s summer and the weather is truly fine, lots of folks were out and about. Mostly to take in the long summer light. It was a fine afternoon indeed!
One of my favourite outdoor gardens is the awesome Gardens by the Bay. This part called “the meadow” I don’t come very often. It’s usually where performances are held….in a hidden corner of the open area, I found this view allowing me to capture the icons of the Marina Bay area from a different perspective.
The metal structures are ‘dragonflies’ – there were a few flying around.
In this part of the gardens, there’s a permanent art installation, called “Planet” by renowned sculpture Marc Quinn. It’s inspiration comes from the artist’s baby son. Amazing scale !
