My Photo Adventure

Holga’ed!!!

And so, my Holga Lens fitted for the Nikon, came in the post today. How excited I was to open up the small little pack that contained my pink small lens. I had been wanting to try out the “Holga” effect for a while now. Stumbled upon this website that sold Holga camera and lenses online…..what else but at Holga.com! What a nifty little lens it was. All of USD 22.90! And it ships worldwide! How amazing is that!

The small unassuming white box contained a treasure! It’s even QC passed!

How can you not love the pinky pink!

The lens is plastic. I read somewhere that taking pics with the Holga is pretty much a trial and error experience. Suppose that’s part of the fun -it’s unpredictable results. I truly cannot wait to try it out! Meanwhile, had the kids as guinea pigs. Can’t say they’re great shots, but certainly the grain & funny colors add to the overall effect.

    • It is quite fun actually….just need to better gauge the distance from the subject and shoot. Can’t focus, can’t quite see thro the viewfinder either. So a little trial and error. With some color tweaks in photo edit software, should be able to balance out the shadows slightly. I suppose the fun part is the dark patches and the vignetting

      • Lol…my colleague tried it and his tip for better pic is to lock max ISO at 1600 and try aperture at f8, 1/60s shutter speed…. With flash. Have fun.
